First Comes Love, Then Comes Marriage, Then Comes…

A bunch of matching, hand-knit beanies…naturally…

Hats Baby Announcement

…because our little famiLee is growing to three!

You may have caught the slight hint I gave in my last post about something I wanted to share with the blogging/social media world that I could not do quite yet.  Because of course, I was knitting up the CUTEST little baby beanie and having my husband take this photo on his camera and edit the picture on Photoshop. 🙂

Yes, we are excited.  And nervous.  And a wee bit hormonal (okay, that may just be me).

As this is our first pregnancy, it’s been fun to hear the questions people tend to ask the most when we share that we are expecting.  For example…the number one question is…

Is baby a boy or a girl?!

We don’t know yet for another month…we find out in early/mid September.  Hopefully baby is willing to show us his or her goods down there at that time.

Which do you want – a boy or a girl?!  (And this next sentence almost always follows this one when a woman is asking the question).  You want a girl, right??

Honestly, we just want a really happy and healthy baby.  Whether this baby is a boy or a girl, the deed is already done…no going back now!

Do you want to be surprised by baby’s sex and wait or do you want to know right away?

Are you kidding me?!  Do you know me AT ALL?!?!  Hello…I need to plan.  I need to know.  And the world will know too…so the world can plan with me. 😉

Have you guys thought of any names?

Not really actually…I guess I only care about planning for the nursery and registry LOL!  We should probably find out if baby is a boy or a girl first…and then we’ll see!

When’s the due date?

January 31st.  Pray for no snow storms in Kansas City during that time…please and thank you.

So wait…how far along are you then?

15 and a half weeks currently (yes, that half is important!).

Did you have morning sickness?  What foods are you craving?  (Again, only women ask me these questions…haha!).

I was very fortunate not to have any morning sickness (my mom didn’t either so I take that as good genes?).  And I’m not craving anything specific…just mostly fruits and fresh foods and ice-cold drinks.  Also, Costco’s danishes.  That cheese danish…Oh. Em. Gee.  I have resisted buying them because I will probably scarf down an entire pack in a few days.  It’s a good thing I don’t live in SoCal anymore because Porto’s cheese rolls would be my diet.  Wait…do they ship to the Midwest?!?!

And those are generally the most common questions we get asked…and now you know the answers to them, too! 😉

Cheese danishes aside, we are feeling truly blessed to become parents in 2017.  I’m sure it’s going to become a whirlwind of a year, but one I will probably always treasure.  And thank you to all who prayed for us to have this baby…we know he or she will be very loved by so many.

We will keep you posted along the way! 🙂

This is such a truly wonderful time in your lives, Stacey. What a happy update, and I hope that as much as you love to plan, and your tremendously good at that, you’ll slow down as much as possible and just take this time for the two of you to celebrate being a happily married couple, awaiting your first child. It’s a precious time that can only be experienced once. And we pray for a happy, healthy baby…and a January with mild temperatures. No weather events! LOL! ox

Debra you are SO right! As much as the first trimester seemed to tick away so slowly…when it ended I realized it was already over so quickly! I guess that’s how life is…there are moments throughout my day that I think, “You know, my life will be a little crazier in a few months and I can’t do (so-and-so) as easily…” And then I’m grateful for this brief but important season. Thank you for your prayers! They really do mean so much! Xoxo

So, so, so happy for the two of you. I know you have a way to go but can’t wait to meet the newest member of your family. Just think, we may have another Stacey running around organizing things in the not so distant future.

Haha!! You know, I did not think about a little mini-me organizing the world as I do…although I am a mini-me of my mom so I suppose that is entirely possible! Thank you for sharing in our excitement! I think this second trimester is the fun stage…all the joys of a little bump starting to show, registries, nursery ideas, etc. without the looming thought of labor and delivery…oh and actually raising this little one once he/she is out! 🙂
